PROBIOTIC

Indications & Dose:

Treatment and prevention of acute or chronic infectious diarrhea of non-specific origin, antibiotic associated diarrhea and traveler’s diarrhea. • Co-prescribe with antibiotics to minimize the ecologic damage of intestinal flora.• Other indication includes inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease), irritable bowel syndrome and post operative state.

Can be combined with ORS, antibiotics, anti-fungal, anti-protozãl, antiviral, other anti-diarrheal products and also with chemotherapeutic agents.

Usual recommended dose of   I - 2 capsules a day. It can be recommended up to 6 capsules a day depending on the severity of condition, to be continued for 1 week after the symptoms subside. In co-prescription with antibiotic, administer 1 capsule 2 -3 hours before or after the administration of antibiotic, to be continued at least by 1 week after the antibiotic therapy. In antibiotic associated diarrhea, administer 1 capsule 2 -3 hours before or after the administration of antibiotic, to be continued at least by 1 week after the antibiotic therapy. In traveler’s diarrhea to be continued by 1 week pre and post travel.

Contraindications:

There is no specific contraindication.

Children and those who cannot swallow capsule:

The powder of the capsule can be taken out and administered with cold water, honey, milk (cold) or juice etc. Usual recommended dose  for children is 1 -2 capsules a day is not recommended under the age of 1 year.
