Phys:

Causes include immobilisation, post-operative, pregnancy, oestrogen supplementation (e.g. con­traceptive pill), cardiac failure, renal failure, carci­noma, myeloproliferative disorders and phospho­lipid antibody syndrome. Pulmonary embolism is a possible dangerous complication
