| Management | Emergency if tension pneumothorax. Site: 3-6 cm from sternal edge at 2nd intercostal space in midclavicular line or just lateral to it. Technique: Insertion of tube is essentially the same as for drainage of empyema. However, tube should be directed upwards. Tube should be connected to a water sealed bottle and continuous suction pump. |
