Indications & Dose:

INDICATIONS: Emollients soothe, smooth and hydrate the skin and are indicated for all dry scaling disorders (such as ichthyosis). Their effects are short-lived and they should be applied frequently even after improve-ment occurs. They are useful in dry eczematous disorders, and to a lesser extent in psoriasis . Simple preparations such as aqueous cream are often as effective as the more complex proprietary formulations, in general, the choice depends on patient preference. Some ingredients may cause sensitisation, notably hydrous wool fat (lanolin) or antibacterials and this should be suspected if an eczematous reaction occurs
