INDICATIONS AND USES: Topical: symptomatic relief of inflammation and/or pruritus associated with acute and chronic corticosteroid-responsive skin disorders Nasal spray: prophylaxis and treatment of the nasal symptoms of allergic rhinitis
DOSAGE
Adult
• TOP apply qd-bid, rub completely into skin
Adult and child> 2 yr
• Nasal spray: 1 spray in each nostril qd-bid
Contraindications:
Side Effects:
CV: Hypertension
EENT: Glaucoma, subcapsular cataracts
METAB: Cushing’s syndrome, glucose intolerance, hypokalemic syndrome
SKIN: Acneiform eruptions, allergic contact dermatitis; folliculitis, furunculosis, hair loss, hyperesthesia, hypopigmentation, pustules, pyoderma, secondary skin infection, skin atrophy, striae, vesiculation

Skin lesions covering large surface areas or involving thin-skinned areas; children, adolescents, geriatrics

Labs
• Interference: With adrenal function as assessed by corticotropin stimulation, 24-hr urine-free corti sol measurements; plasma cortisol.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION: Pregnancy category C; systemic corticosteroids are excreted into breast milk in quantities not likely to have deleterious effects in breastfeeding infants; no information on topical steroids
