Indications & Dose:

 As an antidote or “rescue” after treatment with (high-dose) methotrexate. In the treatment of megaloblastic anaemias, owing to folate deficiency.

Contraindications:

Pernicious anaemias or megaloblastic anaemias owing to deficiency of vit. B 12. Patients with gastrointestinal irritations (vomiting and diarrhea). . DOSAGE:
Antidote: To be adjusted to individual needs, provided that it corresponds to approximately 10 to 20 per cent of the methotrexate dose. See literature. Megaloblastic anaemias: Treatment, initial course of 10mg daily for 10to15 days, but 1 mg daily is probably adequate, subsequent therapy and dosage modified to the haematological response.
