Betamethasone + Neomycin + Nystatin

Indications & Dose:

Psoriasis (excluding widespread Plaque Psoriasis), Recalcitrant Eczemas, Lichan planus, Discoid lupus erythematosus and other skin conditions which do not respond satisfactory to less active topical steroids. Emollient, Cream is also used for the same conditions but it relieves the irritation and retains moisture of the skin.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Apply once or twice daily until improvement occurs. Not continue for more than four weeks with out reviewing the patient’s condition

Contraindications:

Rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, primary cutaneous viral infections hypersensitivity to topical steroid preparations. Primary infection of the skin caused by fungi, bacteria or yeast; secondary infections due to pseudomonas or proteus species.

Children under 1 year age including dermatitis and napkin rash, eruption in the treatment of otitis externa, where the eardrum is perforated.

Adverse Effects:

Hypercriticism. Atrophy of skin e.g. thinning, striae and dilatation of superficial blood vessels, pigmentation changes, hypertrichosis, hypersensitivity, exacerbations of symptoms may occur in prolong use. 

Lactations:

Topical steroids not to be used extensively in pregnancy. Not recommended in pregnancy or lactation.
