Indications & Dose:
Small cell lung cancer. Acute monocytic and myelomonocytic leukemias. Hodgkin’s disease. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma & testicular tumours
DOSE
Adults Inj: 50-100mg/m2/daily for 5 days (infuse over 30- 60 mins); then 3-4 weeks treatment free; Small cell lung cancer 35mg/m2/day for 4 days. oral Star-ting dose: 100-200/m2/daily on days 1 to 5; then 3-4 weeks treatment free; take on empty stomach.
Children Not recommended
Contraindications:
Pregnancy and lactation. Severe hepatic dysfunction, acute infection, history of previous hypersensitivity. Severe bone marrow failure not due to malignant disease,severe hepatic dysfunction.
Side Effects:
Myelosuppression, anorexia, stomatitis, reversible alopecia, flushing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, allergic reactions, fever, hypotension, bone marrow depression, peripheral neuropathy, jaundice, bronchospasm.
Cautions:
Precautions:
Extravasation, infection, children, adequate contraception. Monitor hepatic, renal and haematological function.
Old age: May be used.
Interaction:

Warfarin: Prolongation of prothrombin time may occur.
Other cytotoxic drugs: Synergism.
