Indications & Dose:

Hypoproteinemia, restoration of blood volume in shock due to burns, crushing injuries, abdominal emergencies and any other cause where loss of plasma fluid is predominant, not loss of red blood cells. It is effective in emergency treatment of haemorrhage and may be indicated following emergency phase blood transfusions. 

Contraindications:

Know hypersensitivity, haemostatic defects, cardiac decompensation, renal disease.

Side Effects:

Mild urticarial reaction, hypotension, nausea, and vomiting.
DOSE 5mg/kg body weight, or according to clinical condition.

Cautions:

Can cause severe anaphylactic reaction, therefore patients should be closely observed during the first minutes of infusion. Solutions should not be used if solution is cloudy or if a deposit present.
