50mg twice daily for >15 weeks to patients with OA decreased the number of urokinase receptors on chondrocytes to near normal levels and reduced fibrinolytic activity of synovial fluid .The in vitro Fibrinolytic activity of synovial fibroblasts was also reduced by incubation with Diacerein.2
