Compound Preparations

Indications & Dose:

Prophylaxis of abortion. Threatened abortion. DOSE Adult Prophylaxis of abortion.  Three days after the rise in body metabolism on about 18th day of the cycle 1ml/IM. where failure of the menstrual bleeding and continious evaluation of basal body temprature indicate an early pregnancy. an IM inj of 1ml is given imediatly. The hormone dose is doubled once a week later i,e from the begning of the 6th week during the 1st month of pregnancy 2ml is administered every wek during the 1st month of pregnancy , in isolated cases even longer cases. Therapy also is of advantage when a patient with a predeposition to habitual abortion dose not come for treatmet untill after the  start of fresh pregnancy, 2ml is injected immediatly followed by 2ml every week during the 1st month of pregnancy, in isolated even longer cases. Threatened abortion: To institute treatment 2ml twice weekly untill the bleeding stop. Bed rest is urgently advised. When the bleeding stop 2ml weekly for some weeks untill the patient remains free from complain and bleeding despite mobilization Children Not applicable 

Contraindications:

A history f herpes of pregnancy throboembolic process 

Side Effects:

Nausea, vomiting, weight loss, breast tenderness, and enlargement, withdrawal bleeding, sodum retention with edema, liver function disorder, rashes, headache

Precautions:

Hypertension, myocardial or renal disturbance, varicose veins, epilepsy, cloasma, uterine fibromyomata>examine B.P,pelvic organ and breasts before and regularly during tratment 

Interaction:

Diuretics, antihypertensive, liver enzyme inducing drugs
