Indications & Dose:

Type 2 diabetes mellitus as monotherapy (if metformin inappropriate), or in combination with metformin or a sulfonylurea (if metformin inappropriate), or pioglitazone (when treatment with either metformin or a sulfonylurea or pioglitazone fails to achieve adequate glycaemic control), and also in combination with both metformin and a sulfonylurea (when dual therapy with these drugs fails to achieve adequate glycaemic control) | Type 2 diabetes mellitus in combination with insulin (with or without metformin) when a stable dose of insulin has not provided adequate glycaemic control


BY MOUTH Adult: 5 mg once daily 

Contraindications:

 history of serious hypersensitivity to Dipeptidyl peptidase-4inhibitor

Cautions:

Elderly determine renal function before treatment and priodically thereafter; discontinue if symptoms of acute pancreatitis ocur. HEPATIC IMPAIRMENT: Use with caution in moderate impairment; avoid severe impairment.
RENAL IMPAIRMENT:
Reduce dose 2.5mg once daily in moderate to severe impairment, avoid in severe

Side Effects Or Adverse Reactions:

Vomiting, dyspepsia, gastritis, peripheral oedema, headache, dizziness, fatigue, upper respiratory tract infection, gastroenteritis, UTI, sinusitis, nasopharyngitis, hypoglycemia, myalgia, . Less rarely: dyslipidemia, hypertriglyceridaemia, pancreatitis, erectile dysfunction, oral reported rash.
