LINCOMYCIN

Indications & Dose:

 URI, LRTI, skin infections, septicaemia caused by Staph aureus & streptococcus, bone & joint infection including acute hematogenous osteomyelitis.


DOSE


Adults: Oral: 500mg 3-4 times daily., i.m: 600mg 12-24 hours., i.v: 600mg-1g 8-12 hours.


Children: Oral: >1 month age: 30-60mg/kg/day in 3-4 doses., i.m: >1 month age: 10mg/kg every 12-24 hours., i.v.: 10-20mg/kg/day infused in divided doses

Hypersensitivity.

Neuromuscular blocking agents : Use with cautions since actions of these agents are enhanced.


Kaolin : Reduced Gl absorption of lincomycin.
