Indications & Dose:
Musculoskeletal disorders, rheumatic arthritis, (including juvenile arthritis) osteo-arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, chronic juvenile arthritis. Mild to moderate pain including dysmenorrhoea, fever and dental pain. Analgesic in muscle, joint and soft tissue pain. Still’s disease, dental pain, post operative or post partum pain.
Adult: 500mg 3 times daily preferably after food. Children : Over 6 months 25mg/kg/day in divided doses. OR 1 year; 5ml, 2-4 year; 10ml, 5-8 year; 15ml, 9-12 year; 20ml, all eight hourly for not more than seven days.
Contraindications:
As of NSAIDs. Specifically contraindicated in inflammatory bowel disease, porphyria.
Side Effects:
As of NSAIDs. Drowsiness, diarrhoea, rashes (withdraw treatment), thrombocytopenia, haemolytic anaemia, aplastic anaemia. Convulsions in over-dosage.

Same as ibuprofen.
Pregnancy:
Safety not established.
Breast-feeding: Avoid, because of effects on infant’s cardiovascular system.
Old Age: May be used in reduced dose.
