Indications & Dose:

Vertigo, tinnitus and hearing loss associated with Ménière’s disease

BY MOUTH

Adult: Initially 16 mg 3 times a day, dose preferably taken with food; maintenance 24–48 mg daily 

Contraindications:

No contraindications are known.s.

Side Effects:

Betahistine is generally well tolerated. Mild gastric complaints have been reported. They can ollen be eliminated by reducing the dosage. Also, skin rashes have been reported.

Precautions:

Patients with phaeochromocytoma or bronchial asthma should be treated with caution. Caution is also advised In the treatment of patients with a history of peptic ulcer. Use in pregnancy: In animal tests with high doses of betahistine, no teratogenic effects have been demonstrated, nevertheless administration during pregnancy is discouraged.
