ZULCOPENTHIXOL

Indications & Dose:

Acute and chronic schizophrenia and other psychosis, especially with symptoms such as hallucinations, paranoid delusions and thought disturbances as well as agitation, restlessness, hostility and aggression.

BY INJECTION

Adults:Usually 200-400mg by deep IM injection every two to four weeks; maximum 600mg a week. Children: Not recommended.

Acute alcohol, barbiturate, the opiate intoxication, comatose  states

Used with caution in patients with convulsive disorders or advanced hepatic or cardiovascular diseases. Should not be administered during pregnancy. 

Interaction:

Not be given concomitantly with guanethidine or similar acting compounds, since neuroleptics may block the antihypertensive effect of these compounds. May lower the effect of levodopa and adrenergic drugs and concomitant use of metoclopramide and piperazine increases the risk of extrapyramidal symptoms.
