Indications & Dose:

Dry cough 



Child 6–11 years: 2–5 mg 3–4 times a day


Child 12–17 years: 5–10 mg 3–4 times a day


Adult: 5–10 mg 3–4 times a day


ADULTS: 5 10ml three or four times daily.


CHILDREN: Over 12 years, adult dose; 3 12 years, 2.5 5ml three or four times daily; 3 years, 2.5m 

Contraindications:

Bronchiectasis . bronchiolitis (in children) . chronic bronchitis . chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (in adults) . patients at risk of respiratory failure 

Side Effects:

Confusion . constipation . dizziness . drowsiness . excitation . nausea . rash . sputum retention . vomiting


PREGNANCY Manufacturer advises avoid unless potential benefit outweighs risk.


BREAST FEEDING  no information available.


HEPATIC IMPAIRMENT Avoid in hepatic impairment.


RENAL IMPAIRMENT Use with caution in renal impairment. Avoid in severe renal impairment
