Indications & Dose:
Adjunct to diet and other appropriate measures in mixed hyperlipidaemia if statin contra-indicated or not tolerated
Adjunct to diet and other appropriate measures in severe hypertriglyceridaemia
Adjunct to statin in mixed hyperlipidaemia if triglycerides and HDLcholesterol inadequately controlled in patients at high cardiovascular risk
Adult: Initially 200 mg daily, then increased if necessary to 267 mg daily, maximum 200mg daily with concomitant statin, 200mg capsules not appropriate for use in renal impairment, 267mg capsules not appropriate for initial dose titration, or in renal impairment
Adult: 160 mg Adult: 160 mg daily, tablets not appropriate in renal impairment
Contraindications:
Severe renal or hepatic impairment, hypoalbuminaemia, primary billiary cirrhosis, gall bladder disease, nephortic syndrome.
Pregnancy & breast-feeding.
Side Effects:
Nausea, anorexia, gastric pain, pruritis, urticaria impotency, headache, dizziness, vertigo, fatigue hairloss myotoxicity.Alopecia, skin rash, leukopenia, myalgia.

Anti-coagulants: Increa-ses efficacy of anti-coagulants requiring dose of the latter to be reduced by half.
