Indications & Dose:

Adjunct to diet and other appropriate measures in mixed hyperlipidaemia if statin contra-indicated or not tolerated | Adjunct to diet and other appropriate


measures in severe hypertriglyceridaemia



Adult: 200 mg 3 times a day



Adult: 400 mg once daily, modified-release dose form is not appropriate in patients with renal impairment


 

Contraindications:

Severe renal or hepatic impairment, hypoalbuminaemia, primary billiary cirrhosis, gall bladder disease, nephortic syndrome.


Pregnancy & breast-feeding

Side Effects:

Nausea, anorexia, gastric pain, pruritis, urticaria impotency, headache, dizziness, vertigo, fatigue hairloss myotoxicity.Alopecia, skin rash, leukopenia, myalgia.

Anti-coagulants: Increa-ses efficacy of anti-coagulants requiring dose of the latter to be reduced by half.


Sulfonyl ureas: Activity potentiated
