Indications & Dose:

Prevention and treatment of motion sickness; Meniere’s disease,* other vestibular disturbances*


BY MOUTH


Adult: • 50-100 mg 2 to 3 times daily, do not exceed 400 mg/day;


Child 7-12 yr: • 25-50 mg/q 6-8h, do not exceed 150 mg/day; 


Child 1-6 yr: • 12.5-25 mg q6-8h, do not exceed 75 mg/day


BY INJECTABLE


By IM 1.25 mg/kg or 37.5 mg/m2 qid, do not exceed 300 mg/day

Contraindications:

Side Effects:

CNS: Confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, excitation, headache, heaviness and weakness of hands, insomnia (especially in children), lassitude, nervousness, restlessness, tingling, vertigo


CV: Palpitations, tachycardia


EENT: Blurring of vision, diplopia,nasal stuffiness


GI: Anorexia, constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, epigastric distress, nausea, vomiting


GU: Difficult or painful urination


HEME: Hemolytic anemia


SKIN: Drug rash, photosensitivity, urtlcarla

Precautions:

Children, prostatic hypertrophy, stenosing peptic ulcer, pyloroduodenal obstruction, bladder neck obstruction, narrow angle glaucoma, cardiac dysrhythmias, elderly, children <2 yrs


Pregnancy ; has been used for the treatment of hyperemesis gravidarum; small amounts are excreted into breast milk; use caution in nursing mothers
