DOMPERIDONE METOCLOPRAMIDE

Indications & Dose:

Nausea, vomiting, travel sickness, vertigo.


BY MOUTH: 


Tab: Adult one tablet Children: over 12 years 1 tab  all three times daily.


Syp: Adult 4 tsf Children: over 12 years 4 tsp  , 6-12 years 2 tsp, 2-5 years 1 tsp all three times daily.BY BY INJECTABLE


Inj: Adult one Amp IV/IM  all three times daily.


 

Contraindications:

Its antimuscarinic action warrants caution in patients with prostatic hypertrophy, urinary retention, or glaucoma. Liver disease exacerbates its sedative effects.[1]


BREAST-FEEDING


It is not known whether cyclizine is distributed into breast milk. {12} However, problems in humans have not been documented.


Because of its anticholinergic actions, cyclizine may inhibit lactatio

Adverse Effects:

Common (over 10%) – Drowsiness, xerostomia (dry mouth)


Uncommon (1% to 10%) – Headache, psychomotor impairment, and antimuscarinic effects such as urinary retention, diplopia (blurred vision), dermatitis, and gastro-intestinal disturbances.


Rare – Hypersensitivity reactions (bronchospasm, angioedema, anaphylaxis, rashes and photosensitivity reactions), extrapyramidal effects, dizziness, confusion, depression, sleep disturbances, tremor, liver dysfunction and hallucinations
